Dental radiology
Imaging techniques in dentistry are undergoing a continuous transformation through the development and introduction of new technologies in everyday clinical practice. At La Garena Dental Clinic we are aware of this and we have the latest equipment in dental radiology:
Digital radiography (Radiovisiography):
This technique does not require revealed and you get the result at the moment. It irradiates minimally because the patient has less exposure to radiation of x-rays in traditional radiography. In addition to being digital, its storage is very simple and accessible as radiography is stored and saved on disks, tapes or computer memory, it saves physical space and it can complement medical information that we may require for future reference.
Ortopantomography:
It is a panoramic radiograph showing all oral structures and carried out in a specific apparatus called ortopantomograph. That is to say, it allows us to view in a panoramic way and at once, both jaws with all dental alveoli and surrounding structures, as well as the articulation of the jaw to the skull, and the maxillary sinuses.
Teleradiography:
This radiographic technique consists of a parallel radiographic side projection to the midplane (sagital) of the skull and neck. Radiography is used to examine the entire head and shows the rear and upper object positions or injuries that affect the bone structures. It allows us to provide the cefalometric study for the assessment study in orthodontics.
Occlusal radiographies
The occlusal radiography is one of the techniques used in the radiography inside the mouth, whose intraoral exploratory technique involves the placing, inside the mouth, of different radiographic size plates to get exposed, from the outside, by a X-ray apparatus. The techniques on occlusal intraoral radiography are called this way because the placement and support of the film, are performed in the occlusal plane, between the maxilla and mandible, by turning the beam from above or below, perpendicularly or obliquely.
